The purpose of the resources we create here at the Roberta Winter Institute is to help trigger what we confidently expect will be a dynamic and decentralized movement of believers who will work together to eradicate specific diseases for the glory of God.

We are convinced that a movement of this kind always starts with an explosive Biblical idea communicated in a clear and powerful way, something that reorients believers to a bold new task and propels them to “give up their small ambitions” (Francis Xavier).

However, as Ralph Winter once wrote, “I have not found any work of theology, any chapter, any paragraph, nor to my knowledge any sermon urging us—whether in the pew or in professional missions—to go to battle against the many disease pathogens we now know to be eradicable.”

Our resources are an attempt to answer this call.
